FASHION | Escape to where the sun never hides.

The only thing I like about the rainy season is that I get to layer my clothes.
And it's raining buckets as I'm writing this post.
Uggh! I hate rainy days!
It makes me crazy lazy.
End of post.

Waking up to a blissful morning.

It’s 6:35 in the morning and I just woke up a little hung over from last night’s drinking. I’m not complaining. Why would I? I’m at the beach, it’s sunny, and I’m with four of my good friends from high school. It can’t get any better than this right? So here I am, wide awake, writing this post, while they’re in their beds- still snoring. A few minutes from now, they’ll rise up and it’s high school once again. But this time its different. This time we can openly talk about things that never crossed our heads when we were 15, maybe 14 for one. There’s Christie and Alexis who are getting hitched next year. We used to tease the two back in the days. Now here they are, wrapped in each others’ arms, in bed, in love. Then there’s Richard, who’s probably the most generous person I know, expressed how much he needed this trip. I needed this trip too but I think he has a much better reason than I do. I’d die if I have his job! The stress levels that he has to deal with on a daily basis are fatal! And then Ellen, the very hospitable Ellen. Yesterday’s food fest was superb, I didn’t expect one whole “lechon” to be served on the table! How’s that for lunch?! Ellen now has a cute a little angel named Gabriel. I personally don’t like kids but this boy is just adorable and much behaved. It’s 6:55am and they’re still asleep. This afternoon we’ll all drive back to the city, back to reality, back to our lives where high school ended ten years ago. I’ll soak in the moment for now. It’s sunny outside and the beach is calling me! Bliss.

I just survived two months of all work and no play. By play, I mean going out of town+heading out to the beach+getting drunk. It's a known fact amongst my circle of friends that I have a problem- my addiction to that piece of heaven called "beach". When summer ended, I promised to check myself inside an imaginary no-beach rehab center. Two months of no beach seem short if you drown yourself in work. The formula was simple: work+home daily. It was simple and it made me sick in the head, it made me hallucinate. LOL Two months is all I can take and its become clear- I had to relapse. I had to make my way back to the beach or I'd go nuts! (this is an exaggeration of course!) Hey beach! It looks like we're going to see each other a lot again! Did you miss me? hehe

Mayhem and the dancefloor.

The past days have been nothing but work. Sleep, eat, work, eat, sleep- has become a daily routine with the exception of weekends being- sleep, eat, sleep. This formula has been proven to be very effective if you're trying to get obese, not the direction that I'm going for. Since I'm too lazy to hit the gym, I've been trying to eat less. Hopefully, this will do the job. My weight, however, should be the least of my worries. Last week, mayhem hit the office when my boss asked me to join an emergency meeting along with some of my peers. Word got out about some plans of cutting the number of members in the team. I kind of saw this coming since this has always been the case since I joined the team. What I didn't see coming was the plan to cut the number of heads into half. After coming up with a back-up plan, we were told to keep our mouths shut to avoid causing panic in the team. Just like show business, people talk about other people in our office and most of the time, its nasty talk. Eventually, almost everyone in the team knew about the sad news the next day. You can pretty much predict what happened next- chaos. End of story.

On a lighter note, I finally had a chance to see one of my good friends from overseas after three years. Thanks to this little thing called webcam. I hate online chats but we chatted for 2 hours or so. Oh God we miss each other! And then I got an invitation to help her cross out one of the items in her bucket list- go to Koh Pangan's full moon party with her and party like crazy this 2012. She said all I have to worry about is getting myself a roundtrip ticket and she'll take care of the rest. I said yes to the invitation but really, there's so much to worry about than just getting a roundtrip ticket- if I can go on leave from work for a week, money for the roundtrip ticket, pocket money and passport (yes! I do not have a passport). Fingers crossed, I will be in this trip!
